Kenya ranked low in women representation in Parliament
Kenya has been ranked as one of the countries with the lowest number of women members of parliament in the region, despite the two thirds gender rule upheld by the constitution.
According to the latest statistics, Kenya stands at position sixth, with 22 percent of women in the National Assembly and 31 percent in senate.
This emerged during the opening ceremony of the Kenya Women Parliamentary Association (KEWOPA) three day retreat at Enashipai spa in Naivasha, Nakuru county.
